What is açaí anyway?

Açaí (“ah-sa-ee”) is a nutrient-dense berry, high in antioxidants, omega fatty acids, proteins and fibres. Part of the staple diet of the Amazonian indigenous people for centuries, it is similar to blueberries in taste but contains 10x more antioxidants that boost brain function and have cancer-preventing properties. How’s that for a superfruit!

Because açaí berries grow wild atop towering palm trees, they can never be farmed or cultivated. By consuming açaí, you are not only helping to ensure the livelihood of local communities in Pará, Brazil who hand-pick these berries, but also halting the depletion of the Amazon forest by large scale monoculture and cattle farming.

Our açaí berries are proudly organic and vegan-friendly.
